Julie Skinner, General Manager
Coach Julie Skinner leads the Spectrum Team with energy and determination. Julie handles ALL tournaments, leagues and ALL facility rentals. She graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1982. She is a graduate of Campbell University NC, 1988 with a BBA in Marketing and played for the Division 1 Lady Camels as a point guard. While starting as point guard the Lady Camels maintained a win loss record of 68-19. Coach Skinner still holds the All Time Record for assists of 586 and steals of 343. During her career, she recorded 3 triple doubles and was All Conference, All Tournament and an Honorable Mention-All-American. Coach Skinner still holds the Big South record of most assists in their women’s conference tournament with an average of 10 per game. Coach Skinner recently has been inducted in the Loudoun County High School Hall of Fame (2014) and the Big South All-Decade team.
Additionally, Coach Skinner played with AIA Basketball, South America, 1989 and AIA Basketball USA Tour Team, 1990-91. Coach Skinner actively coached the NRV Storm Girls AAU team and founded in 2000 NRV Elite Hoop Training and NRV Elite Boys and Girls Basketball Club. Julie retired from coaching in 2017.
Coach Skinner is married, has 3 children and Stage 3 breast cancer survivor, an avid crossfitter and BJJ.

Kam Meeks Director of Pickleball/Assistant to the GM– Kam was born and raised in Roanoke, VA. Grew up primarily playing baseball and basketball. Graduated from William Fleming HS. Played baseball at NC State from 2007-2009. Competed in racquetball tournaments from 2009-2018 (highest rank of #5 in the state of VA and #35 on the professional tour). Also assisted with broadcast of the International Racquetball Tour. Kam is also an AVID gamer! Kam will help you with ALL of your pickleball needs as well as tournament day management. Kam also helps with nightly rentals and front desk management.

Markus Lewis-Front Desk Manager/Facilities Coordinator-Markus is a Hampton, VA native and a graduate from Ferrum College (Sports/Exercise and Science). Markus is an AVID basketball player who played high level AAU and high school. Markus is the smiling face you see when you walk into Spectrum. Markus also works all events and helps with nightly rentals.

Todd Lynn, Volleyball Trainer and Clinics
Todd has been involved with volleyball for close to 20 years. He started playing club at Liberty University and then began coaching soon after graduating. Todd was an assistant coach for LCA when they won a VISAA state championship in 2007 and then as head coach, led the Lady Bulldogs to two straight VISAA State runner-up finishes in 2008 and 2009. He has also coached JV at Hidden Valley in Roanoke, VA for one season. Most recently Todd was a travel VB coach with Next Revolution Volleyball Club. Carter Turner, Pickleball
Carter Turner is a USA Pickleball Ambassador, Professional Pickleball Registry certified coach, and both an Onix team player and court dealer. Carter is an avid tournament player with a DUPR rating of 4.8. Prior to earning his Ph.D. and his current career in higher education, Carter was a USPTA tennis professional in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Virginia. Carter works at Radford University and lives in Roanoke County, Virginia.
Kristie MacDonald, Pickleball
Kristie MacDonald has been playing pickleball since 2018. In 2019 she won the Gold Medal in women’s doubles at the National Championships in Indian Wells California. She has been PPR certified since August of 2021 and loves teaching pickleball not only all over the United States, but around the world. As a retired special education teacher, and a sports enthusiast, she has the skills to make her classes and clinics fun and challenging! She also owns and operates and pickleball retreat and training center at Smith Mountain Lake.
